In 2020, Matt graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning. With a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, it might be an unaccustomed journey, but it provided the skills and tools to view a city's processes as a large interconnected system. He is adept at quickly identifying connections between traditionally siloed services and improve systems as a whole.
Prior to MMP, Matt worked for a planning consulting company as well as a municipal government in Texas. He has experience in short and long-range planning to help clients meet their land use and transportation goals. He accomplishes this by working to find a balance between the needs of regional stakeholders and learning whatever is necessary to complete the task.
Matt utilizes his knowledge of land use and transportation planning to encourage safety design and multi-mobility solutions in traditionally vehicle-oriented developments. His skills in planning theory, geographical information systems (GIS), data analysis, and public engagement allow him to effectively gather and organize information and perspectives to inform clients of current conditions and best practices for the future.
