Sai has over 6 years of consulting experience in transportation planning, modeling, and data analysis, and brings in-depth knowledge and proven track record of performance-based planning and data-driven decision making through the development of project prioritization tools, travel demand and economic modeling.
Sai has served as Principal Modeler in several transportation planning projects, corridor studies, funding analyses and grant applications, including updating, validating and applying travel demand models in over 5 states for a variety of clients including DOTs, MPOs, counties, municipalities, and community improvement districts.
One of Sai’s most notable accomplishments is his role in leading the socio-economic benefit-cost analysis of the BUILD grant application for the GA-316 at GA-11 Interchange project, which received an award of $24.8 M from the USDOT.
Sai applies his travel demand modeling expertise to process the models to yield different performance measures as needed. He developed a new methodology enhancing the GSTDM highway assignment to get the trip share of each MPO from different MPOs, other regions of GA, and external regions (other states) and implemented it to investigate the trip patterns in the existing model. The outputs of the trip patterns supported an external economic development study conducted by the University of Georgia that evaluated Georgia’s return on investment in the highway system.
