Sean Zhang is a graduate of the PhD program in Geography, Environment, and Society Department at University of Minnesota. She also holds GIS master’s degree from University of Minnesota, and GIS bachelor’s degree from Wuhan University.

Before joined MMP, Sean has led a variety of research projects including innovative data tool, accessibility, transportation equity, and health. In one of the Minnesota DOT funded projects, she designed a data-driven approach to address gender disparities in transportation to enhance transportation inclusivity. Besides research, She was also an intern at Metropolitan Council in Minnesota, where she utilized her data analysis skills to automate highway traffic data pulling and forecasting processes. Sean is skilled in GIS, spatial analysis, data integration, and R programming. She is passionate about applying her skills into transportation planning process and contributing to equitable and accessible communities.
